Key Responsibilities
Technology Strategy & Architecture
- Define and drive the overall technology strategy and end to end solution architecture for the program.
- Translate business objectives and capabilities into scalable architecture across applications, data, integration, and infrastructure.
- Establish and maintain architecture standards across multiple domains, teams, and solution streams.
- Evaluate technical options, trade offs, and implementation approaches to ensure sustainable and scalable solutions.
- Ensure architecture complies with enterprise standards, regulatory requirements, and client technology strategies.
Engineering Leadership & Delivery Governance
- Lead and provide technical direction to architecture, engineering, and delivery teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Serve as the senior technical escalation point for critical delivery issues, risks, dependencies, and scope changes.
- Drive technical governance through architecture reviews, design assessments, and compliance checks.
- Manage program level technical risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies, including mitigation planning.
- Ensure non functional requirements covering security, performance, scalability, reliability, availability, and observability are embedded into solutions.
Client & Executive Stakeholder Management
- Act as the key technical advisor and counterpart for senior client stakeholders, enterprise architects, and technology leaders.
- Lead architecture workshops, technical discussions, design reviews, and executive alignment sessions.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both engineering teams and senior business leaders.
- Establish strong relationships and credibility with stakeholders across technical and executive levels.
Solution Consulting & Requirement Translation
- Translate business requirements into practical technical solutions and architecture designs.
- Advise clients and internal teams on appropriate technology choices, architecture patterns, and implementation approaches.
- Assess business processes and ensure technical solutions are feasible and aligned with end to end requirements.
- Develop and maintain solution architecture documents, technical specifications, and other design artifacts.
Program Coordination & Cross Functional Alignment
- Facilitate collaboration across Product Owners, Engineering Managers, Solution Architects, Platform, Security, and Vendor teams.
- Ensure technical alignment across core banking, cards, payments, digital channels, integration, and data platforms.
- Maintain architecture and delivery consistency across distributed and offshore teams.
- Partner with client and internal teams to resolve technical blockers and improve delivery execution.
Engineering Innovation
- Drive adoption of modern engineering practices including microservices, distributed systems, event driven architecture, Kafka, cloud native technologies, CI/CD, DevOps, and automation.
- Embed security and compliance principles into architecture and software delivery.
- Promote responsible use of AI assisted engineering for development, testing, refactoring, documentation, and SDLC automation.
- Ensure AI enabled engineering practices meet required standards for accuracy, security, governance, and quality.
Qualifications & Experience
Leadership & Consulting
- 10+ years of experience in senior technology leadership positions such as CTO, Technical Director, Principal Architect, Solution Architect, or Technical Consultant.
- Proven experience leading large scale technology programs involving multiple engineering teams and complex stakeholder environments.
- Strong client facing consulting experience with the ability to engage senior executives and facilitate technology decisions.
Technical Expertise
- Strong hands on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and API based architecture.
- Extensive experience designing microservices and distributed systems.
- Practical knowledge of event driven architecture and Kafka.
- Strong understanding of enterprise integration architecture and design patterns.
- Experience with cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
- Strong knowledge of architecture governance, scalability, performance optimization, and system resilience.
Domain Knowledge
- Strong experience in Banking or FinTech, particularly core banking transformation, payments, cards, risk and compliance, and digital banking.
- Good understanding of regulatory, security, and compliance requirements within financial services.
Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Ability to influence senior decision makers through clear, structured, and business focused technical recommendations.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and technical documentation skills.
- Experience leading global, distributed, offshore, and remote engineering teams.
- Proven experience working directly with international clients.
