Technical Manager

Responsibilities and Duties:

The Technical Manager is responsible for leading all technical functions to ensure accurate and efficient execution of product development and production. This includes managing technical documentation (drawings, BOM, routing, costing, materials), supporting both sample development and mass production, and ensuring product quality, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.

Sample Development Management

• Oversee end-to-end sample development from prototype to pre-production
• Collaborate with Design and Product teams to translate concepts into samples
• Coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers
• Resolve technical issues during the sampling phase

Costing Management

• Lead product costing to ensure accuracy and competitiveness
• Analyze material, labor, and overhead costs
• Develop and maintain cost breakdown structures
• Identify cost-saving opportunities

Technical Drawing & Specifications

• Manage creation and validation of technical drawings and specifications
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with standards
• Utilize CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor)
• Communicate technical requirements to production and QC teams

BOM Management

• Develop and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOM)
• Control BOM updates and revisions
• Ensure alignment across Engineering, Production, and Purchasing

Packaging Development

• Develop packaging specifications (materials, dimensions, labeling)
• Coordinate with suppliers and optimize for cost and protection
• Ensure compliance with shipping and sustainability standards

Technical Problem Solving

• Identify and resolve technical issues in development and production
• Provide technical guidance and implement corrective actions

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain complete and updated technical documentation
• Prepare reports and technical presentations

Process Improvement

• Improve technical workflows, routing efficiency, and material utilization
• Drive cost reduction and productivity improvement initiatives

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Design, Production, Sourcing, and QA teams
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to stakeholders

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
• Minimum 5 years in technical/product development within manufacturing
• Strong experience in sample development, costing, BOM & technical drawings
• Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor)
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
• Good English communication
