The client, who is a global renewable energy and energy storage developer & independent power producer, seeks a Project Development Associate to support our Vietnam project development activities.
NOTE: Native or near-native Vietnamese language proficiency is required, so non-Vietnamese speakers need not apply for this role.
Location: Ho Chi Minh City (note: applicants from Hanoi will be considered, but please be aware that project locations are primarily in southern Vietnam).
Your role is a critical component of the company’s business in Vietnam. Responsibilities include:
- With the assistance of senior project development employees, build energy storage and renewable energy projects that are completed on schedule, under budget, and profitable for the business.
- Working with management, internal personnel, and outside experts, evaluate, assess, and secure land for projects including renewable energy and energy storage. Prospecting, site identification, and assessment, information gathering with local government, viability analysis, outreach, and relationship building and management with property owners are among the specific tasks.
- Work with electric utilities to identify appropriate grid connection points, and arrange all pertinent paperwork and correspondence.
- Engage in project permitting activities, including communication with regional, municipal, and federal government agencies, business associations, and other stakeholders.
- Assist the project development process by working with technical, legal, and financial resources.
- Maintain and maintain project files, data rooms, and summary and tracking tools.
- Put together and keep up-to-date reports as needed for management.
- Other research and development tasks as deemed necessary by the company.
Experience:
- Strong track record of cooperating with provincial and local governments
- Strong background working with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong background working with international companies
- 2+ years of experience in Vietnam's real estate or energy development industry, with 2+ years working in rural areas
Qualification:
- It is advantageous to have knowledge of the Vietnamese renewable energy sector.
- A high degree of professionalism with attention to detail; excellent oral and written communication and presentation abilities; superior time management and interpersonal skills; competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and native or near-native proficiency in Vietnamese are expected.
Educational background:
- Completed courses in renewable energy will be positively considered
- BA/BS degree is a must
