Main responsibility
- Manage daily operations of the company's solar rooftop portfolio, biomass energy, and other energy efficiency assets in Vietnam and Cambodia, ensuring that asset performance and efficiency targets are met or exceeded.
- Lead the Asset Management team in Ho Chi Minh City and Pnom Penh, giving direction and leadership to ensure the team works efficiently and effectively to accomplish business goals.
- Set the company's vision, objective, and goals in collaboration with the Regional Managing Director, the Head of Asset Management, and other key stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of rooftop solar systems and/or experience with commercial boiler operations and biofuels
- Maintain technical standards throughout the portfolio by adhering to appropriate standards, laws, stakeholder and client-specific needs.
- Control effective onboarding of newly developed assets to the company’s ASM platform ‘BEAT’.
- Work with the Group Head of Asset Management to strengthen ASM processes and best practices on an ongoing basis.
- Develop and document operational best practices and procedures on a regular basis.
- Provide a regular detailed asset management report to the Head of Asset Management; prepare and present a Country AM update to the Executive Management Team during the Monthly Business Review, including recommendations for improving asset performance or cost-cutting initiatives related to business operations.
- Create, administer, and control the Asset Management budget, ensuring that asset efficiency is maintained within budget.
- Oversee the asset management function's financial performance, collaborating with the Regional MD, AM Head, and Finance team to produce budgets, track spending, and manage cash flow.
- Apply assessment and commercial acumen to make informed decisions that strike a balance between all stakeholders and functions as needed to maintain the correct mix of efficiency and cost while ensuring health and safety standards are always met.
- Conducts asset performance studies and develops improvement plans.
- Excellent Excel/PowerBI analysis skills for identifying patterns and doing cost/efficiency analyses, such as scheduling optimal panel cleaning frequency to maximize plant income via cost benefit analysis.
- Identify methods for improving asset performance and lowering risk.
- Serves as the company's senior liaison with its existing client base, resolving issues and ensuring that service agreements and response times agreed upon with our clients are met in order to strengthen client relationships.
- Ensure the effectiveness of plant management teams on client locations in order to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our assets such as Biomass Energy.
- Assist in the selection and recruiting of asset management and plant management teams, ensuring that the right people are hired.
- Ensure that consumers and third-party partners meet their business responsibilities (minimum consumption, warranties, performance guarantees, and so on).
- Maintaining the quality, value, and safety of all new and existing third-party contractors and consultants through a rigorous selection and review process
- Provide technical leadership to the asset management team and serve as the point of contact for complicated technical issues that may affect asset performance or contractual commitments.
- Manage system testing and inspections on a regular basis to maintain efficiency and ensure safe operation.
- Work closely with the EHS manager to ensure all operational tasks are carried out with a zero-incident approach, in collaboration with other stakeholders (e.g. finance).
Requirement
- Preferably a Vietnamese or Cambodian speaker with excellent written and spoken English (expats are also considered).
- At least 10 years of experience in Senior Operations, including managerial experience
- In-depth knowledge of Asset Management methods.
- Thorough understanding of solar PV technology and/or biomass energy (preferably both)
- Problem-solving ability and the ability to lead by example
- Understanding of budgeting and process management tools
- Proven ability to handle tough conditions while remaining happy
- Ability to take aggressive and calm ownership of challenges - Ability to handle several stakeholders with good interpersonal skills
- Confident and mature communicator capable of managing unreasonable customer expectations while ensuring business goals are not jeopardized
