Role Overview:
This posion merges strategic vision with practical execution in medical affairs, overseeing initiatives related to both products and therapeutic domains. The ideal candidate will act as a proactive contributor and simultaneously lead a team managing a key therapy area or product group, driving the business unit's strategic and operational goals.
A deep knowledge of clinical ecosystems, treatment pathways, and healthcare gaps is essential to craft effective, contextually appropriate medical strategies. The role focuses on implementing robust medical plans that promote clinical confidence, generate evidence, and support systemic healthcare improvements. Delivering long-term, high-impact change and promoting evidence-based practice are core objectives.
Core Responsibilities:
Strategic Medical Direction:
- Spearhead or contribute to initiatives aimed at addressing significant clinical or systemic challenges alongside cross-functional teams.
- Design and implement medical plans for specific products or therapy areas aligned with the broader corporate strategy.
- Translate real-world clinical and pa,ent journey insights into practical interventions that elevate patient care.
- Incorporate innovation into strategy, fostering systemic changes that enhanc healthcare practices and ensure their longevity.
Scientific and Medical Leadership:
- Serve as a subject matter expert, offering strategic guidance and leadership across departments.
- Maintain scientific accuracy and compliance in all materials and communication linked to the product or therapy area.
- Drive the creation of scientific education resources and tools, and help translate emerging innovations into clinical routines.
- Offer strategic medical insights to guide marketing strategies and ensure medical alignment.
Collaborative Engagement (Internal & External):
- Work cross-func,onally with teams in marke,ng, regulatory affairs, market access, communications, compliance, and drug safety to maintain unified medical approaches.
- Build partnerships with diverse external stakeholders such as healthcare providers, governmental bodies, advocacy groups, and innovation partners
- Lead or co-develop initiatives that influence the broader healthcare landscape and are built for long-term impact and scalability.
Team Leadership & Field Operations:
- Recruit and lead a high-performing medical team with strong systems and processes to support both current and future strategic demands.
- Foster an inclusive, growth-oriented team culture focused on scientific excellence and ongoing professional development.
- Define clear team goals and expectations that align with overarching medical and organizational strategies.
- Coach and mentor junior medical team members, fostering career growth and performance excellence.
- Ensure the broader cross-functional team remains well-informed through continuous scientific training and updates.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a life sciences or medical-related field (e.g.,Pharmacy, Medicine, Biomedical Sciences).
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills.
- Strong skills in project management and data analysis.
- Solid understanding of pharmaceutical operations and field medical roles.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulatory standards and compliance framework.
- Proven track record of stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
Preferred:
- Doctorate in a relevant scientific or medical field (M.D., Ph.D., Pharm.D.).
- Experience in research (clinical/preclinical), drug development, or translational science.
- Familiarity with oncology—particularly lung cancer—and its treatment landscape.
- Prior experience managing or leading medical affairs teams.
