Key Responsibilities:
- Development and execution of new and sustaining architecture and materials
- Creation of models/prototypes to articulate design concepts, evaluate functionality, and understand early performance
- Collaborate with other teams on design details and refinement
- Performance testing and failure analysis to ensure the design meets requirements throughout its lifecycle
- Development of manufacturing processes, tooling concepts, and functional & cosmetic specifications by working with external vendors and internal manufacturing teams
- Travel to support build activities including finding root causes for failures and solutions for issues that impede build progress.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Proven experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on Consumer Electronics products
- Experience in the product development cycle and proficiency in designing parts and assemblies for manufacturing
- Ability to apply engineering analysis, creative problem solving, attention to detail, and diligence in finding the best solution for each design challenge
- Applied understanding of tolerance analysis, GD&T, and statistical process control
- Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to articulate design performance and independently drive people/groups for design, schedule, and quality
- CAD design experience using both 2D and 3D applications
- Design and production experience including the following: Thermoplastics, Elastomeric materials, Sheet Metal, Die-cast metals, Metal Injection Molding, Soft Goods materials (fabric and leather), Printed Circuit Board structure, assembly, and interconnect
- Good command of English ( ability to speak Chinese is an advantage)
