General Sales Manager

    Key Responsibilities

    Sales Operations & Performance Management

    • Drive and achieve wholesale and retail sales objectives across the dealer network in alignment with company targets.
    • Monitor daily market activities including inquiries, deliveries, lost sales, and competitor movements, to identify growth opportunities and market trends.
    • Support dealers with actionable recommendations to enhance retail performance and drive wholesale business growth.
    • Ensure strict adherence to sales management disciplines including prospect follow-up, showroom management, test drives, and sales process execution.
    • Utilize LMS and sales analytics systems to track performance, evaluate sales effectiveness, and identify improvement opportunities.
    • Conduct regular sales forecasting, performance analysis, and competition reviews while implementing corrective action plans where necessary.

    Fleet & Commercial Business Development

    • Develop and execute strategic fleet sales initiatives to expand market share and achieve commercial sales targets.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with fleet customers, government agencies, corporate accounts, and key commercial partners.
    • Lead large-scale fleet negotiations and support high-value business opportunities.
    • Initiate and manage fleet-focused programs, campaigns, and customer engagement activities to strengthen business growth.

    Customer Experience & Brand Standards

    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure dealership operations and customer experience programs comply with global brand standards.
    • Support dealers in achieving quality accreditation standards and resolve operational challenges through cross-functional collaboration.
    • Ensure dealership facilities, operational practices, and customer touchpoints consistently align with corporate brand guidelines.
    • Lead onboarding and operational readiness for new dealership establishments in partnership with relevant teams.
    • Develop strong dealer relationships through regular engagement, responsive support, and continuous performance improvement initiatives.

    Inventory & Supply Chain Optimization

    • Optimize inventory management and maintain healthy stock aging levels across the dealer network.
    • Participate in stock planning and sales availability meetings to ensure effective supply-demand alignment and inventory efficiency.
    • Collaborate with marketing and related departments to develop action plans for aging inventory and stock turnover improvement.

    Strategic Leadership & Team Development

    • Lead collaborative sales review processes with dealers while providing strategic business updates to senior management.
    • Coach, mentor, and develop Zonal Sales Managers through regular feedback, observation, and best practice sharing.
    • Review dealer sales structures and management effectiveness to ensure operational efficiency and business performance.
    • Support dealer engagement initiatives including dealer council participation, quarterly business reviews, and strategic planning sessions.
    • Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and commercial excellence.

    Requirements

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales & Marketing, Economics, Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is an advantage.
    • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in sales, marketing, or commercial operations within automotive, manufacturing, logistics, or fast-moving industries.
    • At least 7 years of leadership experience managing teams, driving performance, and leading strategic initiatives.
    • Prior Automotive OEM sales and marketing experience is highly preferred.

    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM/LMS systems, and sales analytics tools.
    • Strong digital literacy with the ability to leverage AI-powered tools and automation to improve productivity and reporting efficiency.
