What You’ll Do
We are seeking a Factory Operations Manager based in Binh Duong, Vietnam. In this role, you will play a key role in driving operational excellence and leading improvement initiatives in collaboration with contract manufacturing partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Report to the Operations Quality & Manufacturing Excellence Director.
- Work closely with Operations, Product Development, and Factory Leadership teams to improve manufacturing performance and operational efficiency.
- Lead the implementation of factory readiness criteria for new product introduction within the factory. This includes Production Planning, Material Sourcing, Manufacturing Operations, Engineering, and Quality Assurance.
- Manage continuous excellence projects to improve manufacturability, production efficiency, and product quality while identifying opportunities to optimize manufacturing costs.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen.
- Align with factory leadership on plans related to manufacturing equipment, staffing levels, and operational resources needed to support new product introduction and efficiency improvement projects.
- Train and coach factory leadership teams on procedures, operational standards, and quality requirements needed to support global product manufacturing.
- Cascade new product introduction plans and improvement initiatives across all levels of the factory through effective communication.
What You Will Need to Succeed
- A bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 to 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, including at least 4 years in a leadership role focused on operational excellence or continuous improvement.
- Proven experience collaborating with outsourced manufacturing partners or contract manufacturers.
- Experience in consumer products, appliances, or similar manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Ability to understand mechanical part 2D drawings, engineering specifications, part tolerancing, and bills of materials (BOMs).
- Fluent in Mandarin.
- Basic English communication skills in speaking and writing.
- Based in Binh Duong, Vietnam.
- Ability to travel between factories in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi when required.
- Willingness to work in the factory at least 4 days per week.
