Environmental Supply Quality Engineer 

    Overview:
    A leading global technology organization is looking for an experienced Environmental Compliance Engineer to oversee product compliance across its supply chain. This role plays a key part in ensuring that suppliers and manufacturing partners adhere to environmental standards, supporting new product introduction, and managing issue resolution when non- compliance is identified. The position requires close collaboration with the Environmental Program Manager and involves extensive travel throughout Vietnam, Southeast Asia, and occasionally to China—up to 50% annually, sometimes on short notice.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Conduct on-site evaluations of supplier facilities to review and verify environmental management systems in alignment with internal standards and compliance protocols.
    • Guide suppliers through the corrective action planning process, ensuring timely and effective resolution of identified gaps.
    • Evaluate and audit the environmental readiness of new suppliers and final assembly/test/pack (FATP) operations prior to new product launches.
    • Deliver structured training programs to enhance supplier knowledge and capacity for environmental compliance.
    • Perform regular site visits to monitor the implementation of environmental controls, such as inbound/outbound quality checks and contamination prevention measures.
    • Assist with investigations related to compliance failures, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate corrective action efforts in cooperation with the environmental quality team.

    Qualifications:

    • Solid understanding of global environmental compliance frameworks, including RoHS, REACH, California Proposition 65, EPEAT, and IEC 62321.
    • Demonstrated experience in auditing environmental compliance for electronic products and managing post-audit follow-up.
    • Knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes and quality assurance protocols related to environmental standards.
    • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to compliance oversight.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.

    Educational Background & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.
    • A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience is required.
    • Prior involvement in developing material compliance strategies is considered a significant advantage.
