Director of Strategic Architecture and Innovation

    Overview

    This leadership role is responsible for shaping the bank’s enterprise architecture (EA) vision and ensuring that IT strategies are aligned with business priorities. The incumbent will build architecture frameworks, assess capability maturity, and support transformation efforts through architecture-led planning and governance.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Establish and lead the enterprise architecture function, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals.

    • Translate business vision into practical, technology-enabled operating models and architecture roadmaps.

    • Define and maintain the relationship between people, processes, technology, data, and their roles within the broader business ecosystem.

    • Collaborate with business units to build capability maps and facilitate decision-making through clear architectural insights.

    • Identify critical weaknesses in current-state IT and recommend solutions to bridge gaps and drive innovation.

    • Deliver gap analyses, investment roadmaps, and governance models to guide transformation and ensure enterprise-wide alignment.

    • Lead architecture governance, ensuring consistent application of EA standards and best practices across the organization.

    • Provide advisory support on organizational readiness for change and the adoption of emerging technologies.

      Ideal Candidate Profile:

    • 7+ years of experience in multiple IT functions such as solution architecture, infrastructure, database, or application development.

    • 5+ years of business experience in strategic planning, operations, or enterprise transformation.

    • Strong grasp of EA frameworks (e.g., TOGAF), IT service management, and lifecycle processes (e.g., ITIL).

    • Adept at bridging strategic and operational goals through architectural planning and execution.

    • Familiarity with modern tech stacks and trends including APIs, microservices, SaaS/PaaS/IaaS, open data, and predictive analytics.

    • Capable of driving both foundational (efficiency-driven) and agile (innovation-led) architecture strategies.

    Preferred Soft skills 

    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder influencing skills.

    • Able to distill complexity into actionable solutions that balance short-term needs with

      long-term goals.
