Area Manager - Oncology

    What You’ll Do:
    As Area Manager – Oncology, you will lead, coach, and inspire a team of Oncology Sales Representatives to deliver exceptional business results and ensure AstraZeneca remains the preferred partner in cancer care. You will play a pivotal role in executing field strategies, driving performance, and fostering collaboration between internal and external stakeholders to enhance patient outcomes.


    Typical Accountabilities:

    • Lead the district team to meet or exceed oncology sales targets and field execution KPIs.
    • Work closely with individual representatives to set challenging yet achievable goals for each territory.
    • Provide field coaching, mentoring, and development to build team capability and readiness for future leadership roles.
    • Proactively identify and remove barriers to performance while ensuring full compliance with AstraZeneca’s ethical standards and regulations.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Medical, and Access teams to implement strategic initiatives supporting AstraZeneca’s Oncology portfolio.
    • Drive a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

    Education, Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Essential:

    • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Pharmacy, Medicine, or Life Sciences).
    • Minimum 3 years’ proven success in pharmaceutical or healthcare sales.
    • Strong leadership, coaching, and analytical skills.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.

    Desirable:

    • Previous people management or first-line leadership experience.
    • Experience in Oncology or Specialty Care segments.
    • Exposure to cross-functional projects (Sales Training, Operations, or Brand Management).
